About Me

I’m a general practitioner with an MBChB from the University of Pretoria (1991) and have been in private practice since 1997.

I take a holistic approach to healthcare—addressing not only the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual aspects of well-being. My practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine, guided by the latest clinical research and standards of care.

With a strong ethical foundation and Christian values at the heart of my work, I strive to provide compassionate, trustworthy care to every patient. My special interests include paediatrics, dermatology, weight management and metabolic syndrome.

My Approach

Based in Somerset West, my practice provides comprehensive medical care for patients of all ages—from infants to the elderly.

I’m committed to serving individuals from all walks of life, across a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds. Most medical aids are accepted, and I also offer a reduced cash fee for patients without medical aid who may be economically disadvantaged.

Services Offered

I provide a broad range of medical services, including:

Acute Care: Immediate attention for medical emergencies such as chest or abdominal pain, concussions, lacerations, breathing difficulties, and more.

Chronic Disease Management: Ongoing care for conditions like metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and hypertension.

Dermatology (Special Interest): Treatment of common skin conditions including eczema, acne, and fungal infections.

Paediatric Care: Comprehensive care for children, including routine checkups, milestone monitoring, and treatment of acute illnesses—I have a particular passion for working with children.

Basic Pregnancy Ultrasound (up to 24 weeks): Dating scans, fetal heartbeat assessment, growth tracking, placental position, amniotic fluid evaluation, and gender identification. Please note: I do not perform detailed anomaly scans typically done at 12 or 22 weeks.

Abdominal Ultrasound: Detection of conditions such as gallstones, ovarian cysts, free fluid, and prostate enlargement.

Soft Tissue and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Evaluation of tendinitis, thyroid abnormalities, and superficial masses.

Minor Surgical Procedures: Includes wart and skin tag cauterisation, sebaceous cyst removal, liquid nitrogen therapy, and abscess drainage.

Insurance Medical Examinations

PDP (Professional Driving Permit) Certification

Chronic Medication Support: Assistance with registration and authorization of chronic prescriptions.

Specialist Referrals: Appropriate and timely referrals to trusted local specialists, including direct communication in urgent cases.

Diagnostic Referrals: Laboratory blood tests, X-rays, and other investigations as clinically indicated.

Cardiac Testing: Resting and stress ECGs.

Women’s Health: Pap smears, menopause support, and contraceptive counselling.

Mental Health Care: Support and treatment for depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, and insomnia.
